An Expert on Expat Lifestyle and Travel in Mexico
I have spent the last ten years living on the Pacific coast of Mexico and traveling around the country.
While mainly focusing on the popular tourist destinations, I have also travelled through central Mexico, Yucatan and Oaxaca.
Taking a big leap in the summer of 2011, I moved my family and company to Puerto Vallarta. I have experienced many of the ins and outs of this country. From registering for school to car insurance to animal rescue and day to day living, I share these experiences through my writing and photography.
With a population of 120 million and a land mass greater than Western Europe, Mexico is also the 5th most bio-diverse country on the planet. All of this leads to unique geographical regions, elaborate cultures, UNESCO protected heritage, ancient cultures, and amazing people. Relax beachside or explore the tiny villages, there is truly something for everyone in Mexico.
From 2010 to 2016 I was the CEO and Editor of Mexi-Go! - a lifestyle magazine, with corresponding trade shows and an online portal to promote Mexico to Canadians and others who were considering travel and retirement in Mexico. While in hiatus, you can access past issues of Mexi-Go! here.
From 2013 to 2019, I was the Director of the Vallarta Tribune. Published weekly, all year, the newspaper was the widest distributed and longest publishing English newspaper in Banderas Bay. Editorial content featured tourism and expat information, along with events and community news.
Contracted by Moon Guides in 2017, I researched, photographed and wrote the 2020 edition of the Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, Costa Alegre Moon Guide. You can purchase on Amazon.
Graphic design, web design, product design, branding and marketing for real estate developers, local businesses in Mexico and international clients.
Through my travels I have sourced unique handmade artisan products including silver and beaded jewelry, ceramics, clothing, embroidered and woven fabrics, baskets, painted gourds, coconuts and mythical wooden creatures.
Before doing a 180' and moving to Mexico, I specialized in Commercial, Residential and Luxury Real Estate Marketing for major corporations such as RE/MAX, Cushman Wakefield and Sotheby's Int'l Realty.
Originally from BC's interior, home is now Victoria BC and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
